Abstract

Bus stops, sidewalks and buses are part of transportation facilities and infrastructure that should be able to provide optimal services for disabilities. Infrastructure and facilities are difficult to used by disabilities because of the unavailability infrastructure facilities facilitate disabilities in carrying out movements. Infrastructure cannot be accessed and utilized by everyone including disabilities. This will reduce or even eliminate the right of disabilities to get equal services. The purpose of this research is to compile the concept of developing friendly mass public transportation system for disabilities. The research methodology uses qualitative descriptive methods. The research variables are security, comfort, safety and equality and the criteria. Gap analysis is used to find out the nonconformities in producing concepts, a benchmarking analysis is carried out which refers to criteria and best practices. Based on the results analysis showing that infrastructure is not qualified for disabilities needs, the facilities and infrastructure are designed to facilitate the disabilities and non-disabled by applying concept of developing the friendly mass public transport system for disabilities, where facilities completed with ramps, guiding tiles, symbols of disability and suitable space for disabilities.
