Abstract
One of the chemicals commonly found in laboratories are materials chemical which is corrosive. Some corrosive chemicals can vaporize and others react violently with water vapor. Examples of chemical substances Corrosives include: Acetic Acid, Hydrochloric Acid, Nitric Acid, Sulfuric Acid, Acid Citrate, Phenol, Potassium Hydroxide, Sodium Hydroxide, Ammonium Hydroxide Laboratory materials use a lot of volatile chemicals and fine powder that can endanger the health of students and lecturers then a vacuum is needed. then made and designed a fume hood which can inhale or inhale volatile chemicals and fine powders which may harm humans or personnel laboratory that is doing practicum. As for the design of the wardrobe This acid uses the Autocad application as a medium in designing or make a sketch of the fume hood, be it making a sketch of the cupboard as well make the exhaust fan hood. Data was collected by counting blower head, calculates specific rotation, calculates air power, determines shaft power and efficiency, resulting in a blower head of 1,667 m, a specific rotation 381,595 1 / minute, air power 1,924 Watt, shaft power 69.3 Watt, efficiency 2.7%. From the results of this study, conclusions are obtained from the results of calculations with using a specific rotation formula, the wheel used is the axial wheel with a result of 381,595 1 / minute then calculated and the result is 2.41 with c < 2,50 with specific revolutions below <400 1 / minute, for high efficiency obtained is 2.7% with a result of 1.924 Watt and with a result of 69.3 Watt, the efficiency results obtained are 2.7%, Dari Analysis and calculations that have been done can be a design portable fume hood.
