Abstract

this study aims to describe the implementation of art and culture teaching (kuala deli dance) class VII.3 Pekanbaru State Middle School 35 Riau Province Academic Year 2018/2019. the method used in this study is descriptive analysis with a qualitative approach. There are 3 data collection techniques taken, namely observation, interview and documentation techniques. the research subjects were 40 people, namely 1 teacher and 39 students / class VII.3 Pekanbaru State Middle School 35. in the implementation of learning the teacher is guided by the curriculum, syllabus, Teaching Implementation Plan (RPP), methods, facilities and infrastructure, and evaluation. the results of this study indicate that the teacher in implementing art and culture teaching (kuala deli dance) in class VII.3 is in accordance with the learning tools and curriculum used, namely the 2013 curriculum. learning planning prepared by the teacher is RPP, while the syllabus is provided by the central government. the material taught in learning this culture is kuala deli dance using the scientific approach, because by using this method students are required to be more active, enthusiastic, in solving problems and creative in the teaching and learning process. the facilities and infrastructure used by the teachers for the implementation of cultural arts teaching (kuala deli dance) are infokus, textbooks, connect chocolates, speakers and laptops. while in evaluation (assessment) the teacher uses three aspects, namely spiritual and social assessment instruments, knowledge and skills. in the implementation of kuala deli dance teaching 28 students reached KKM with a percentage of 71.79%, while those who did not reach KKM were 11 students with a percentage of 28.20%.
