Abstract

Based on the observation results obtained problems in this study is still less satisfactory results sprint 100 meters in the second semester students of class C one of them related to the explosive muscle limb power. The purpose of this study is to determine the contribution of explosive muscle limb power with sprint sprint speed of 100 meters students semester 2 Class C Program Study Penjaskesrek Islamic University of Riau. This type of research is correlational, where the variables studied are the explosive muscle limb power and sprint sprint 100 meters. The population in this study amounted to 34 students. The sample technique uses total sampling. The number of samples present only 19 people. The instrument of this research is test of explosive muscle limb power by using standing broad jump and 100 meter sprint test. Based on the calculation that has been done, the researchers get the value of r count is 0.460. the value is in the range between 0.40 - 0.70 with the category of moderate correlation. The r value of the table at df = 17 at the 5% error level is 0.456. The result of comparison between the value of r arithmetic and r table value is the value of r arithmetic <value r table or 0.460> 0.456 means there is a significant contribution. The conclusion in this research is the contribution of explosive muscle limb power and sprint 100 meter sprint speed in the 2nd semester students of Class C Program Study of Penjaskesrek of Islamic University of Riau by 21.1%.
