Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes after applied quided inquiry on the results of learning biology class VIII ii B SMPIT Insan Utama Pekanbaru academic year 2017/2018. This research was conducted in SMPIT Insan Utama Pekanbaru April until Mei, 2018. The subjects of the study were students of class VIII B SMPIT Insan Utama Pekanbaru, which amounted to 24 students. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR). Data were analyzed descriptively, with absorption, individual completeness, classical mastery. The results shows that quided inqury can improve cognitive value for absorption of students has increased (3,3%) from the prior CAR namely 76,8% to 80,1% first cycle, and an increase (3,2%) to 83,3% after the second cycle. The classical completeness of the students before CAR is 66,6%, after the CAR cycle 1 becomes 75,0% and the second cycle is 83,3%. Absorptive capacity of students to the value of psikomotoric to increase 1,5% from the prior CAR namely 78,4% to 79,9% in the first cycle, and increased by 3,2% to 83,1% after the second cycle. The classical completeness of students before CAR is 70,8%, after CAR cycle 1 to 75,0% and cycle II by 87,5%. Based on research has been implemented can be concluded that the application of quided inquiry can improve learning outcomes in biology students at class VIII B SMPIT Insan Utama Pekanbaru year 2017/2018.
