Abstract

The purpose of this study to increase student learning outcomes biology junior class VIIA SMP Negeri 7 Tapung Academic Years 2017/2018 by applying the type TPS cooperative learning by using handout. This research is a classroom action research (CAR), held in Agustus to September 2017. The subject of this research is VIIA grade students, junior SMP Negeri 7 Tapung Academic Years 2017/2018 which amounted to 34 students with 14 male student and 20 female students. The data analysis tecnique used is descriptive analysis tecniques. Result analysis of data obtained from the application of type TPS cooperative learningis student absorption capacity increased by (2,8%) from the prior to before CAR (74,56%) after the first cycle of CAR (77,36%) and increased by (6,86%) after cycle II (84,22%). Student learning completeness before CAR (67,65%) increased to (79,41%) after the first cycle of CAR on cycle 2 increased to (94,12%). While the value of Scientific Performance (SP) before CAR (74,7%) incresead by (1,56%) after CAR cycle I (76,26%) and decreased by (7,09%) after the cycle II (83,35%). From these data we can conclude that the application of cooperative learning type TPS by using handout result for student learning biology class VIIA SMP Negeri 7 Tapung Academic Years 2017/2018.
