Abstract

This research is aimed to know the profile of laboratory and the manager of biology laboratory on Private High School of Sail Sub-district and Senapelan Sub-district of Pekanbaru City in academic year 2017/2018. This research was conducted from February to May 2018. This research is a survey research with descriptive quantitative analysis. Data collection in this study is using observation sheets, questionnaires, interviews and documentation. The subjects of this research are biology laboratory and laboratory manager at Private High School of Sail Sub-district and Senapelan Sub-district, Pekanbaru City which is 5 people. Data analysis technique is using percentage. From the research result, the average of biology laboratory profile is 59,92% with complete category. For each type of laboratory facilities obtained the highest percentage of educational media by 80% with a very complete category and the lowest percentage of educational equipment of 35.17% with incomplete categories. For the average competence of teachers of laboratories Science / Biology of 62.24% with the competent category. For each aspect of Science / Biology laboratory competence, the highest percentage on personality aspect is 83.24% with Very Competent category and the lowest percentage in qualification aspect is 30% with less competent category. The results showed that the laboratory profile of Science / Biology of Private High School of Sail Sub-district and Senapelan Sub-district of Pekanbaru City for the academic year 2017/2018 categorized Complete and has fulfilled to the standard of Permendiknas No. 24 Year 2007 and for Competence Teacher categorized Competent is in accordance with Permendiknas N0. 26 of 2008.
