Abstract

In transport, accessibility refers to the ease of reaching the destination. Accessibility has an important role for private vehicle users to find out the ease of reaching an area, so that activities in the region become more effective. This study was conducted to analyze the accessibility of student users of two-wheeled personal transport as well as to identify areas or routes with high accessibility and low accessibility to the Campus Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Islam Riau. This research was conducted by questionnaire survey on students Riau Islamic University Faculty of Engineering who use private vehicle two wheels. Accessibility parameters are investigated including distance and travel time. Determination of accessibility values based on travel time and distance is evaluated using the frequency distribution method. From the frequency table, the accessibility value is divided into 3 parts. High, low, and medium. The results showed that for the value of private transport accessibility to the campus Faculty of Engineering Islamic University of Riau based on distance traveled consists of 22 high accessibility routes, 20 medium accessibility routes, and 4 low accessibility routes. While the accessibility value is based on high accessibility travel times of 23 travel routes, medium accessibility as many as 18 travel routes, and low accessibility as many as 5 travel routes. Of the total route, it reached 46 travel routes. Where the distance of the nearest route is on the K1 and K2 routes with a distance of 2.7 km while the farthest distance is on the K4 route with a distance of 30 km. Low accessibility is caused by several factors, namely long travel time and long distance.
