Abstract

The research background of problem found done research by survey in the field. This research aims to find out the implementation of environmental duties and hygiene of the city of Pekanbaru in the management of waste and to find out the barriers to environmental services and the cleanliness of the city of Pekanbaru in managing waste. As for the usefulness of this research, it is expected that it can provide additional knowledge to the author regarding the implementation of the environmental and hygiene services in Pekanbaru City in handling waste and provide a general description of the implementation of the environmental and hygiene duties of Pekanbaru City, especially regarding waste management and the results of this study can be input for the environmental and sanitation office of Pekanbaru City in dealing with waste. The method used in this study uses quantitative descriptive methods, namely explaining and describing and analyzing the data obtained by interviewing, questionnaires and observing the phenomenon of phenomena regarding the implementation of environmental duties and cleanliness of the city of Pekanbaru. The sampling process in this study is the sampling for the Head of Departement of Head of the cleaning staff and the community of Tangkerang Timur who live in the vicnity of the garbage pile. Data collection techniques used are questionnaire interview observation and documentation with qualitative data analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that overall based on the results of research on the implementation of environmental duties and cleanliness of the city of Pekanbaru in the handling of waste is in the fairly good category, this is because the implementation still has not achived optimal results because in Tangkerang Timur Village there are stiill piles of garbage piles.
