Abstract

This study aims to find out the opinions of students of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Islamic University of Riau on the @minang.kocak account on Instagram. The reason researchers chose this account as an object of research is because one of the posts dubbed using language that is rude and not educational in terms of using social media. Opinion Is defined as expressing opinions with various kinds of activities or expressing activities that are of concern together with typical behavioral procedures. In this study the researcher used a descriptive method where the researcher described in-depth interviews with the research subjects. Based on the results of interviews with informants from Communication Studies students, it can be concluded that the whole informant often sees the @minang.kocak account posts on Instagram with viewing intensity when averaged from five to ten times a day. Most informants generally think positively about the @minang.kocak account is that it is quite entertaining and makes it an excuse to follow the @minang.kocak account because it is entertained with dubbing @minang.kocak character while the negative opinion is generally about bullying, the name of the person who made the nickname animal. From the results of research and data analysis that has been done, the researchers formulated in general the results that the majority of informants like the post @minang.kocak that is always entertaining, it's just that need to be considered again such as the use of language that is not good and reduce the sentence provocation. just entertaining, but must contain elements of benefits, values, and contents of each post that exists so that it can be useful for everyday life.
