Abstract

Headline is the most news bany ak read and attract attention khlayak. If the event was made headlines then the related parties or audiences think of it as an important event. This is where the media really play a role forming public opinion ( public opinion ). Well-written headlines will grab the reader's attention and get them to read the entire story. Riau Post's editorial policy in the news selection process is guided by ketokohan, news that has impact, ie news involving many people, proximity related to the geographical distance of a news or event with audiences, the referring timeline on actuality news. Print media Riau Pos determine the headline news through budgeting and finishing meetings . News decisions which will published as headlines taken based on the hierarchy of office. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis is qualitative. This research will describe or provide an overview regarding Riau Pos editorial policy in determining headline news .
