Abstract
Character building can be taught through instructional communication with children by giving direction to children. Research uses a research approach with qualitative descriptive methods. Research subjects were 4 teachers and 6 students. The technique used in collecting data is observation, interviews, and documentation as well as data validity checking techniques, namely triangulation. The results of research conducted by interviews and observations can be described as follows: A. Content specifications include lecture and exemplary methods, lectures by telling stories and giving examples to students. B. The purpose of character building in accordance with existing norms and school curriculum. C. character building of children at TK PERTIWI this teacher targets a week or a month for the child to understand, understand, and imitate what is taught by the teacher. D. Determination of the strategy chosen depends on the communicator itself and is usually determined by many situations and conditions. E. In the formation of student character, each teacher certainly has his own method for delivery so that the child is easy to understand by students. F. teacher communication with students can be understood by students what the teacher teaches. 80% of children practice ethics taught by their teacher. A comfortable learning environment can be a supporting factor and vice versa. Friends playing with students are like that of playmates who can give good examples to their friends will be a supporting factor and vice versa.
