Abstract

Borneo lies between the Eurasian Plate and the Philippine Plate. Although Borneo is often considered tectonically stable, the study area exhibits significant tectonic activity, such as crustal deformation, active faults, and small to moderate earthquakes, which have not been widely studied. The lack of data and research on tectonic geomorphology, seismic activity, and predictionsMoment of magnitudeFuture earthquake (Mw), integrated with geological field evidence, constitutes a knowledge gap. Therefore, this study aims to fill this knowledge gap through tectonic geomorphology mapping, seismicity analysis, and the preparation of a neotectonic map based on field data. This research method integrates secondary and primary data collection. The results of this study indicate several tectonic geomorphology features, such as 20 faults, the majority of which are rightslip faults.(dextral), big foldsMega Fold, rate-rateoffset bedding1.6 km of righthand shear movement, an average of 1.4 km of river diversion with a right-hand shear orientation, and 37 sets of triangular hills. The author recommends 5 of these.Centroid Moment Tensor(CMT) which is not recommended by the geomapapp, this is adjusted according to the tectonic geomorphology conditions that represent the fault geometry that is not available in the geomapapp application as a provider of seismicity data, including: Linkabau Fault (LF), Linkabau – Kias Fault (LKF), Pamol Fault 1 (PF1), Pamol Fault 2 (PF2), Botitian – Paraganpang Fault (BPF). Great potentialmoment magnitude(Mw) The largest earthquake in the future that will occur is 6.5 Mw which is caused by the Linkabau – Kias Fault (LKF). Field evidence found triangular facet, ridges, folds, offset bedding, and slickenside. Riedl Shear analysis of the Beluran Fault (BF) is a combination composite simple shear and extensional pure shear.
