Abstract
The declining price of coconut affects the income of farmers, which in turn affects the welfare of farmers because the income level of farmers affects the household expenditure of hybrid coconut farmers. This study aims to analyze: (1) Farmer characteristics and farming profile, (2) Production factors, production costs, income and farming efficiency (3) Farmer household income structure, (4) Farmer household expenditure, (5) Factors affecting farmer household expenditure. The sampling technique is done by Random Sampling. The farmer population was randomly taken as much as 5%. So that the number of samples of hybrid coconut farmers amounted to 53 farmers. Multiple linear regression was used as an analytical tool. The results of this study are: (1) Characteristics of farmers such as age with an average of 45 years, length of education with an average of 9.6 years or equivalent to high school level, farming experience with an average of 21 years, the number of family members with an average of 5 people, while the area of land owned with an average of 3.31 hectares. The farm profile is obtained from the scale of farming with an average of large-scale, farm capital with an average of Rp. 10,962,264, and the number of workers with an average of 17 people and the age of the plant with an average of 9.8 years. (2) Production costs obtained amounted to Rp. 13,152,120/year, revenue obtained amounted to Rp. Rp.55,510,189/year, income obtained amounted to Rp.42,358,068/year and farming efficiency obtained RCR (Revenue Cost Ratio) of 4.2 (3) The structure of household income of hybrid coconut farmers is the largest comes from hybrid coconut farming income. This proves that income from hybrid coconut farming is more prioritized than income from other farms and non-farming. (4) The largest household expenditure of hybrid coconut farmers comes from non-food expenditure which is 62.41% (5) Factors that significantly affect household expenditure of hybrid coconut farmers in Tempuling Subdistrict are household income, number of family members and number of assets, while the level of education of farmers, education level of wife and amount of savings are not significant to household expenditure of hybrid coconut farmers in Tempuling Subdistrict.
