Abstract

In the current era of development of communication technology and computer technology, its development has progressed very rapidly. Although many studies have been conducted in the field of networks such as LAN, MAN, and WAN, this research focuses on wireless networks. A wireless local area network (WLAN) is a flexible communication system that uses radio frequency technology to move transmitters and data receivers over the air. To ensure smooth Internet access, businesses or institutions must pay special attention to the Internet network system and its security. The security of internal networks connected to the Internet must be reliable and reliable to protect internal networks and data. The problem is, free access to the Internet makes a person lose control of himself and forget what to do. The need for a network monitoring system so that threats can be quickly overcome and the network can function optimally again. To implement a network security system that can detect attacks, an intrusion detection system (IDS) was built. By using Snort and implementing Intrusion Detection System (IPS) firewall filtering protection, administrators can easily analyze and mitigate attacks on their networks. In the meantime, IP Tables is taking precautions by mitigating these attacks.
