Abstract
This study aims to determine students' motivation towards learning Biology in the 11th grade at SMA Negeri 2 Pekanbaru for the 2021/2022 academic year. This research employs a quantitative approach using survey methods. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 158 11th-grade students, interviews with Biology teachers, and documentation. The questionnaire used consists of 35 statements. The results showed that students' motivation based on the will and desire to succeed reached 66.09%. In terms of future hopes and aspirations, the percentage was 69.24%. For interest, the percentage was 56.95%. Persistence in facing tasks reached 80.79%. Appreciation in learning received a percentage of 57.46%. Engaging activities in learning received a percentage of 63.28%. A conducive learning environment, allowing students to learn well, received a percentage of 68.72%. The drive and need for learning received a percentage of 66.92%. Overall, students' motivation in learning Biology in the 11th grade at SMA Negeri 2 Pekanbaru for the 2021/2022 academic year falls into the high category with an average score of 66.18%.
