Abstract

Preschool buildings, especially kindergartens, play an important role in shaping environmentally friendly behavior from an early age. Therefore, it is very important to ensure that the kindergarten buildings themselves have implemented the concept of green construction. The purpose of this study is to determine whether the YLPI kindergarten preschool building has implemented the concept of green construction, analyze the level of energy, water and material efficiency based on EDGE standards, and optimize building performance. The research method used is to collect secondary data in the form of work drawings (as built drawings) and 3D Sketchup documents, then input building design data into the EDGE application to measure the level of efficiency. The variables studied included EEM (Energy Efficiency Measures), WEM (Water Efficiency Measures) and MEM (Materials Efficiency Measures). The results showed that YLPI kindergarten has not met the minimum efficiency standards for energy, water and materials optimally, which is a minimum of 20%. In energy efficiency, Building A obtained an energy efficiency rate of 2.71%, Building B 19.42%, and Building C 10.89%, this shows that the three YLPI Kindergarten Buildings have not reached the minimum EDGE standard for energy efficiency which is 20%. In water efficiency, Building B reached an efficiency score of 32.76% which indicates that Building B has reached the minimum water efficiency score in the EDGE system which is a minimum of 20%. Assessment of water efficiency was not carried out on Building A and Building C because Building A and Building C did not use water. The results of the assessment on material efficiency show that all three buildings have reached the minimum EDGE system standard for material efficiency which is 20%. Where Building A scored 80%, Buildings B and C scored 73%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the YLPI Kindergarten Pekanbaru building needs to be optimized for energy savings because it has not reached the minimum EDGE system standard of 20%. Optimization of energy efficiency can be done by adding cooling systems such as air conditioning and replacing lighting systems.
