Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the type of damage that occurs in the sections, to determine the comparison of the value of the pavement conditions of these roads based on IRI with the PCI method and the Bina Marga method, and to find out the efforts that can be made to improve the condition of the roads. The method used in this research is the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method and the Bina Marga method. The results showed that the most dominant types of damage that occurred in the first lane (I) were Aligator Cracks, Potholes, and Ravelling. In the second lane (II), the most dominant types of damage that occurred were Aligator Cracks, Potholes, and Edge Cracks. The comparison between the PCI and Bina Marga methods is that the PCI has a PCI value for the first lane of 90 and the second lane 94 which means that both lanes are in excellent condition, while the Bina Marga method has a priority scale value on the first line 8 and the second lane 7, which means that roads are prioritized for routine maintenance, between the two methods actually cannot be compared because the PCI method assesses the condition of the segment based on the service condition assessment, while the Bina Marga assesses a segment with maintenance priority. If the two methods are compared against IRI, it can be said that PCI can be compared to IRI but Bina Marga is not. Based on the effort/handling that can be done on the segment, the PCI method recommends maintenance according to the location where the damage occurs, while Bina Marga recommends carrying out routine maintenance.
