Abstract

Using of numerical methods for solving mathematical problem has expanded. One of them is to solve differential equations. Higher order differential equations usually attain solve by numerical methods as third order differential equations. This Research aims to solving 3rd order differential equations using 4th order Runge-Kutta method. The method of this research is library research. This research start from February 2020 until August 2020. First step to solve 3rd order differential equations using 4th order Runge-Kutta method is determined by reduction third order differential equations into third first order system of differential equations. Then determine exact solutions third first order differential equations. In the third steps determine numerical solution of third order differential equations by Fourth Runge - Kutta method at variant step size. In the final completion determine error at each step size. The result of this research is numerical solutions close to exact solution when step size very small.
