Abstract

Kampar Regency is the third largest district in Riau Province with an area of 10,928.20 km2, for that the government is gradually improving various facilities and infrastructure that are beneficial to the community, one of the facilities and infrastructure is the improvement of road pavements. The use of heavy equipment in the process of activities or execution of large-scale civil engineering works, mining and mechanical earthwork removal is almost inevitable. In the field of civil engineering, heavy equipment is used to assist humans in carrying out the construction work of a building structure. Currently heavy equipment is an important factor in projects, especially large-scale project development. Heavy equipment is a very determining factor in the success of completing a job on time and in accordance with the predetermined quality. This research uses the method of calculating the actual production capacity of heavy equipment. The purpose of this study was to determine the composition of the cheapest heavy equipment to complete the class b aggregate foundation layer work. This study uses 3 alternatives, namely alternative A, Alternative B, and alternative C. The results of this study are alternative A that works for 3 days with a total cost of IDR 97,662,000, alternative B that works for 4 days with a total cost of IDR 99,592,000, and alternative C that works for 5 days with a total cost of IDR 104,990,000. . This study shows that alternative A which works for 3 days using 1 unit wheel loader, 17 units of dump trucks, 1 unit of motor grader, 2 units of vibrator rollers, and 1 unit of water tank with a total cost of Rp. 97,662,000 is the cheapest alternative. and economical compared to alternatives B and C to complete the subgrade for the class B aggregate.
