Abstract

The Development of digital literacy for English Language teachers in school environment nowdays has encounter a number of problem. English Language Teachers’ digital literacy need extra learning about digital literacy such as ICT (Information, Communication, Technology) because English Language teachers are lack of adapting and implementing using digital technology so they need guidance to improve the digital literacy for English language teachers. The purpose of this study is to find out the level of English Language teachers’ Digital literacy development. Research method of this research used quantitative by using questionnaire and interview. The questionnaire distributed 10 English language teachers at SMPN 25 Pekanbaru. The questionnaire consists of 15 statements , divided into three indicators is (1) Social Awareness, (2) Critical Thinking, (3) Knowledge of Digital. And then the interview consists of 10 questions. The result of questionnaires showed that majority English language teachers were insufficient skills on level digital literacy with percentage 68,6%. Based on interview session, the result showed that English language teachers' digital literacy was generally low. English language teacher lack of adapted the digital technology and more difficult to work and collaborate.
