Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of Sen Tari Extracurricular Activities (Saman) at SMP Negeri 11 Bintan, Bintan Regency, Riau Islands Province. In this study the authors used qualitative research methods. The research subjects are as follows: The extracurricular of the saman dance at SMP Negeri 11 Bintan. The primary data in this study were obtained from the results of interviews, observations, and documentation. Analysis of the data in this study the author uses a qualitative method. Saman Dance Extracurricular Activities at SMP Negeri 11 Bintan, Bintan Regency, Riau Islands Province can take place based on a work program that has been determined based on the objectives, methods, and materials provided in the implementation of extracurricular activities. With extracurricular activities based on work programs that have been formed by the coaches, both long-term and short-term work programs, extracurricular activities are expected to be a reference so that the art of dance can be further developed based on the evaluation carried out by extracurricular coaches in every activity to make it better in the field of dance at SMP Negeri 11 Bintan. In extracurricular activities, methods, objectives, facilities and infrastructure play an important role so that extracurricular activities can be carried out properly and the material conveyed can be understood, and can be held in accordance with the work program that has been compiled by the extracurricular coach.
