Abstract

In the industrial aspect, e-commerce is currently a hot topic of discussion, there are many kinds of e-commerce emerging in Indonesia. E-commerce has more advantages for traders as well as buyers, it can save time, money, energy and large capital to market their products. There are so many e-commerce that have developed and are big in Indonesia, one of which is Tokopedia. The Hunter team is the most important part of Tokopedia RGX Pekanbaru. Because, the joining of a Merchant was caused by the persuasive communication made by Hunter. This research focuses on the persuasive communication carried out by the Tokopedia RGX Hunter Team in acquiring New Merchant in Pekanbaru so that they join as Tokopedia partners to trade online. In this study using a qualitative approach with interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that the persuasive steps applied by Tokopedia RGX Pekan Baru to attract interest and build e-seller trust were: (1) Approach; (2) Presentation and Demonstration; (3) Conducting Supporting Activities (Tokopedia Class). Performance evaluation is carried out periodically by Tokopedia to members of the Tokopedia RGX Pekanbaru Division regarding the persuasive communication that has been carried out. The performance of the Hunter team in carrying out persuasive communication has been said to be good and meets expectations, which can be seen from the results of interviews with the Hunter team itself and the New Merchant who had been successfully recruited by the previous Hunter team.
