Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of teaching practices for PPL students, namely activities that must be carried out by FKIP UIR students which include teaching training activities and educational tasks others at school. and this study aims to describe, analyze, interpret the perception of civil servants on the teaching practices of PPL students at the Islamic University of Riau at SMA YLPI Pekanbaru in the 2019/2020 academic year in opening lessons, explaining subject matter, managing class activities, and closing lessons. The method used in this research is descriptive method, the approach used is a qualitative approach, while the data collection technique used is by using questionnaires. In analyzing the data the author uses several relevant theories, namely Slameto (2003), Asril (2015), Djamarah (2005), Jalaluddin (2011) and Alma (2014). The sample in this study used the full sample or the total sample, or the entire population was set to be a sample, namely 23 PPL students at YLPI Pekanbaru High School for the 2019/2020 Academic Year. The results of this study concluded that the perception of civil servant teachers on the teaching practice of PPL students in opening lessons was categorized as good with a percentage (79.71%), the activity of classifying learning materials was categorized as sufficient with a percentage (67.39%), class management activities were categorized as good with a percentage (80.63%), and closing activities in good category with percentage (81.88%). So, the Perception of Civil Service Teachers on the Teaching Practices of Riau Islamic University PPL Students at YLPI Pekanbaru High School for the 2019/2020 Academic Year is categorized as good (77.4%).
