Abstract

In carrying out the work of the Pekanbaru-Dumai toll road section 2A (Minas-Kandis) starting from STA 24 + 200 - STA 33 + 600, the contractor and consultant are always guided by the DMF (Design Mix Formula) which has been carried out several trail times to obtain a JMF (Job Mix Formula) in accordance with field conditions, these are prepared together with related parties namely contractors and consultants. In the DMF (Design Mix Formula) planning, the optimum asphalt content and aggregate content must be obtained. So that the mixture of pavement both AC-BASE, AC-BC and AC-WC reaches the optimum mixture. The purpose of this study was to be able to analyze the design of the DMF (Design Mix Formula) on each AC-BASE, AC-BC and AC-WC pavement layers. This study is guided by the 2018 general specifications of the Director General of Binamarga Circular No: 02 / SE / Db / 2018. The method used in this research is the formula method from Asphalt Institute MS-02-1995 in determining the optimum asphalt content and the Trial and Error method for determining the aggregate content of a mixture that meets the requirements. To get the density cavity in a bouncy or absolute state, use the Percentage Of Refusal Density method. The results of research on the design of the DMF (Design Mix Formula) of the Pekanbaru - Dumai toll road section 2A (Minas - Kandis) section are as follows. Optimum asphalt levels of AC-BASE 5.1%, AC-BC 5.5% and for AC-WC 6% and aggregate hot bin and cold bin that meet the general specifications 2018 No: 02 / SE / Db / 2018. From these results it can be concluded that the quality and quality of the pavement depends on the optimum asphalt content. If the optimum asphalt content will produce the optimum mixture of asphalt and aggregate, it is also viewed in terms of the characteristics of the pavement itself, namely stability, density, flow, Marshall Quaotient (MQ), Void In Mix (VIM), Void in Mineral Aggregate (VMA) ) and Void Filled Bitument (VFB). Suggestions given for this research are expected to have a more efficient method in determining the content of each layer of this pavement.
