Abstract

This study aims to describe how the extracurricular activities of the Saman dance are carried out at SMA Negeri 1 Kabun. The research method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach. Collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation. Subjects in this study were 8 people consisting of 7 extracurricular members and 1 coach. The place where the research took place was at SMA Negeri 1 Kabun, which is on Jalan Gua Tujuh Serangkai No.55 Kabun, Kabun Village, Kabun District. The theory used in this research is (Suryosubroto, 2009: 286). The data analysis techniques used in this study were data reduction, data display or presentation, drawing conclusions and then verified. From the results of research in the field it can be concluded from the research results that the purpose of extracurricular activities in SMA Negeri 1 Kabun is to explore the potential talents and interests of students in the art of dance. Highlighting the identity of students as a form of attracting sympathy for other students towards dance extracurricular activities. Train the self-confidence of each student to bring out their creativity. Fostering an attitude of cooperation, solidarity, and friendly relations with each participant in dance extracurricular activities. To instill a sense of love for dance, especially traditional regional dance, it is then concluded that the material taught in extracurricular activities is the Saman dance. The methods used in extracurricular activities are lecture methods, demonstration methods and practical methods. The facilities and infrastructure used in the extracurricular activities of the Saman dance at SMA Negeri 1 Kabun are schools. The assessment used by the extracurricular coach of SMA Negeri 1 Kabun is an assessment at each meeting and the end of the training process is given a score in the form of an average value of wiraga 85.2, wirama 85.5 and wirasa 79.1.
