Abstract

This research has been carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jln. Kaharudin Nasution KM 113, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City, Riau. The research has been carried out from January – June 2021 under the guidance of Ir. Ernita, M.P. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the interaction of palm oil palm ash and hormonal PGR on the growth and yield of red ginger. This study used a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD), consisting of 2 factors. The first factor was Oil Palm Ash which consisted of 4 levels of treatment, namely: 0, 100, 200 and 300 g per plant. The second factor was Hormonic ZPT which consisted of 4 levels of treatment, namely: 0, 2, 4 and 6 cc per liter of water. Each treatment combination had 3 replications so that there were 48 experimental units. Each experimental unit contained 6 plants and 4 plants were sampled. Overall, the number of red ginger plants used was 288 plants. Observation parameters were: plant height, number of tillers per clump, wet rhizome weight per clump, dry rhizome weight per clump and harvest index. From the observations, each treatment was analyzed statistically. If the calculated F is greater than the F table, then it is continued with a further test of the honest real difference at the 5% level. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded as follows: Interaction of long ash and hormonal PGR was significant for all observation parameters, where the best treatment was the dose of 300 g per plant ash and a concentration of 6 cc per liter of water. The main effect of the dose of long ash was significant on all observation parameters, where the best treatment was the dose of 300 g per plant. The main effect of hormonal ZPT concentration was significant on all observation parameters, where the best treatment was the concentration of 6 cc per liter of water.
