Other thesis, Universitas Islam Riau.
Abstract
The high spirit of ambulance empathy makes this escort organization always carry out escorts without expecting anything from them. Altruism is a voluntary action taken by a group of people to help others without expecting any imbalance. This started from the lack of finding road users to make the guards have a different view of ambulances on the road so that they are altruism. Perspective taking is the ability to predict the views or thoughts of others and understand their thoughts or feelings. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between perspective and altruism in ambulance guards in the city of Pekanbaru. The subjects in this study were 48 people who were selected using a saturated sampling technique. The data collection method used the Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI) scale compiled by Davis (1983) which collected 7 items and the altruism scale compiled by Galistara (2019) with a total of 40 items collected. The data were analyzed using Spearman Rho correlation where the results showed the correlation coefficient r of 0.517 with p of 0.003 (p <0.05). It can be said that there is a significant positive relationship between the perspective taken and altruism on ambulance guards in the city of Pekanbaru. This means that the higher the supervision ability, the higher the altruism of the ambulance guards, and vice versa, the lower the supervision ability, the lower the altruism of the ambulance guards.
