Abstract

At this time the whole world including Indonesia is being hit by the covid-19 outbreak that leaves everyone in a feeling of anxiety and worry. At this time students are required to be able to follow online learning and fulfill their tasks, but often when doing these tasks appear reluctant or lazy to do them. The reluctance stems from his psychological condition and encourages him to avoid the tasks that should be done. Symptoms of this behavior can be referred to as procrastination. The purpose of this study was to find out how to describe the behavior of academic procratation in students of the Faculty of Psychology, Riau Islamic University. The measuring instrument used in this study is the academic procratation scale compiled by Kusuma (2010) consisting of 23 aitems. This study sample amounted to 98 psychology students of Riau Islamic University. The sampling technique used is incidental sampling. The analysis used is descriptive statistical analysis. The results of statistical analysis showed that academic procratation in students of the Faculty of Psychology of Riau Islamic University was mostly in the low category of 64.3% or as many as 63 students. When viewed by force, there was no significant difference in the frequency of each category in all forces studied, where academic procratation of all forces tended to be in the lower category.
