Abstract

The problem in this research is the ability of students to master the long jump sports technique is still not optimal, it can be seen from the long jump technique that students do that there are still many mistakes, such as during the prefix, students run as fast as possible without estimating the distance of the prefix first, consequently the speed decreases when going to repulsion. At the time of repulsion the feet often pass through the repulsion board, so that the jump is invalid. When floating in the air the attitude of students is not right. When landing the position of the feet does not land on two legs, and often students fall backwards. The purpose of this research is to improve the ability of long jump through playing methods in class X.1 students of SMA Negeri 3 Dumai. The type of this research is CAR, which is a method that can be used by teachers to improve student learning outcomes in a learning material. The research subjects in this study were 29th grade students of SMA Negeri 3 Dumai, totaling 29 people. The data analysis technique used is to calculate the percentage value of classical completeness. From the description of the research and data analysis, this research can be concluded that there is an increase in the ability of long jump through playing methods in class X.1 students of SMA Negeri 3 Dumai in the first cycle was 69% (20 students), while the second cycle achieved a percentage of completeness of 86 % (25 students).
