Abstract

Exploration and exploitation of oil and gas has now been widely developed, one of which is the Hydraulic fracturing method. This activity can be carried out through a cooperation contract between government and the contractor, beside the Basic Production Sharing Contract (PSC), the Gross Split PSC is being developed. From the economic point of view, there are several differences between the two types of contracts, therefore it is necessary to conduct an economic analysis in hydraulic fracturing work with a Gross Split Contract. The analysis was carried out on three wells in the JH field, namely wells SK-01, SK-08, and SK-09 with hydraulic fracturing work, because they still have a lot of oil reserves but the permeability is small. Economic analysis on hydraulic fracturing work using Gross Split profit sharing contract method by Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return, and Pay Out Time analysis tools. The results of the analysis found that the Hydraulic Fracturing work on wells SK-01, SK-08, and SK-09 based on the economics of the Gross Split Contract is still not feasible to do. When a comparison is made between the Standard PSC and the Gross Split PSC, the results for the three Standard PSC are still more profitable than the Gross Split PSC, in the Standard PSC only one well is not feasible while in the Gross Split PSC the three wells are not feasible and not profitable.
