Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the song form Selali Senya Sefitra in Cerenti District, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province. The theory used to discuss the elements of song form by Karl-Edmund Prier namely: motifs, phrases, and themes. Theory used to discuss the elements of music by Hugh M. Miller namely: rhythm, melody, harmony, and timbre. The research method used is descriptive analysis method using non-interactive qualitative data. The results of this study are to know the formulation of the problem namely how the Selali Senya Sefitra song forms. The Selali Senya Sefitra song was created by Yulizar in 2010. This song is dedicated to her four children named Sella Yurika, Selli Yurika, Nestya Yurika Senya, and Sefitra Idar Yurika which is abbreviated as Selali Senya Sefitra. The Selali Senya Sefitra song was created at his home, in this song uses an instrument namely Orgen. The Selali Senya Sefitra song is included in the 3 part song form. Selali Senya Sefitra songs have 3 themes, 10 phrases, and 20 motifs. The results of this research observation found 2 units of repetition song Selali Senya Sefitra. The Selali Senya Sefitra song has 6 different rhythmic patterns, dominant melodies moving in steps, harmony using song chords as the base of the main melodic process or vocal melodies. The Selali Senya Sefitra song uses a 2-note scale or D = do, 4/4 time signature, sung with 2 types of tempo.
