Abstract
The purpose of this research is to know how the form of the song Zapin Hamdalah. The theory used to discuss the elements of song form by Card Edmund Prier are 1) Motives, 2) Phrases, 3) Kadens, 4) Themes. Theories used to discuss the elements of music by Aaron Copland are 1) Rhythm, 2) Melody, 3) Harmony, 4) Timbre. The research method uses descriptive analysis with a qualitative approach. The results of the study are 1) to find out the problem formulation, which is the form of the song Zapin Hamdalah by Usu Isro in Siak Regency, Riau Province. The results of analyzing the form of the song Zapin Hamdalah namely the song Zapin Hamdalah had become a compulsory song at FLS2N in elementary, middle and high school level. The song Zapin Hamdalah was also made a compulsory song in the Riau Singer competition at the Riau provincial level and also at the Siak Bermadah competition at the Riau Province level. Zapin Hamdalah song is included in the form of a 2-part song. The song Zapin Hamdalah is also included in the popular or modern Malay song. The song Zapin Hamdalah consists of 46 bars with two repetitions, and the scale used is 2 # (D = Do), and has a 4/4 mark. The notation on the song Zapin Hamdalah begins in the 1st bar by entering 2 up with not 1/8. The tempo used is Moderato, with a speed of 95. The harmony structure of the Zapin Hamdalah song is of 2 types namely vertical and horizontal, but overall the harmony of the Zapin Hamdalah song flows more vertically, forming chords. The Kadens on the Zapin Hamdalah song are the perfect authentic cadence in sentence A, and the authentic cadence (Authentic cadence) in sentence B. The dynamics of the Zapin Hamdalah song in sentence A are Piano and in sentence B is Mezzo Forte.
