Abstract
This research is titled "The Form of Hymn Song of Islamic Student Association (HMI) by R.M Akbar at HMI Pekanbaru Branch in Riau Province". The purpose of the problem in this study is how the form of the song and the elements of music in the hymn song of the Islamic Student Association (HMI) by R.M Akbar at HMI Pekanbaru Branch in Riau Province. The research method used is non-interactive qualitative research that discusses based on document analysis. While taking data using observation and documentation, the theory of song form that researchers use is Karl-Edmund Prier. The theory of the elements of music used is Hugh M. Miller's theory, namely melody, harmony, rhythm, timbre, tempo and dynamics. Based on the research results of the hymn song of the Islamic Student Association (HMI) by RM Akbar has a tempo of Largo: 60 which is contained in time 1 to time 25. The dynamics in the HMI hymn song are P piano and pp pianissimo which means soft and very soft starting from first melody to the end melody. HMI hymns have a two-part song form, hymns use the Cis = do scale with 4/4. HMI hymns are sung Unisono by an HMI cadre choir.
