Peranan Penting Injeksi Pour Point Depressant (PPD) Untuk Menjaga Aliran Crude Oil Saat Terjadinya Penurunan Temperatur Pada Export Line Lapangan AS.
Other thesis, Universitas Islam Riau.
Abstract
Crude oil is a component of hydrocarbon compounds that are naturally formed from fossil materials, undergoing deposition, heating and sedimentation processes in the bowels of the earth. The components contained in hydrocarbons contain paraffin substances which can cause wax. The formation of wax is caused by the condition of the crude oil being at a point below WAT. In the AS export line field there is a congeal occurrence due to a decrease in environmental temperature, especially during the rainy season. If this is not prevented, it can form crystals, thereby reducing the inside diameter of the pipe and causing an increase in pump working power. In this study, a study was conducted on the prevention of wax deposits in the export line pipe by injecting PPD chemical. It is hoped that this treatment will be able to prevent wax deposits. The use of PPD chemical injection is to reduce the pour point so that the crude oil remains above WAT. This research is a field experiment conducted in the project area of PT. Nalco Champion. The first step is to screen the PPD chemical pruduck (85 PPD product) with a concentration of 2000 PPM using the bottole method and the U-tube test. Then, of the 85 types of PPD that were tested, 9 types of PPD were selected based on the results of the reduction in the pour point temperature obtained. The third stage of testing was carried out by increasing the PPD concentration by 4000 PPM. So, of the 9 types of PPD, there are 6 samples that show good performance. Then, from the 6 samples there are 2 compatible PPD samples, namely F2206 and F2218. The concentration required for the PPD chemical at each AS GS field is 1000-1500 PPM. The test results prove that this concentration has been able to reduce the pour point temperature by 3-4 oC.
