Abstract

The airport area includes movement of air transportation and land transportation. These movement activities generate attraction and trip generation between the airport and the destination location and rather which will affect the performance of roads around airport. The purpose of this research is to identify the traffic impact of Jalan Jenderal Sudirman which is caused by the attraction and movement of the Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport in Pekanbaru City due to airport operational activities so that the movement and performance of traffic on the main route of the area can be predicted, namely Jalan Jenderal Sudirman in the future. The research method used is quantitative descriptive method in identifying existing traffic performance and predicting the movement and traffic performance of Jalan Jenderal Sudirman until 2040. After obtaining the results of the attraction and generation of vehicle trips and the results of traffic performance analysis, the influence of airport activities is formulated. on traffic performance in the study area. The results of the analysis of this research show that the traffic flow on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman is influenced by 3 roads, Jalan Bandara (19.6%), Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution road and Jalan Adisucipto (80.4%). Traffic performance on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman in 2020-2040 assumed to be in two conditions. First, the volume of airport road traffic increases based on the passenger growth rate of 7.5% per year resulting in the value of the degree of saturation on the Jenderal Sudirman road increasing from 0.34 to 0.57 which is included classification of road service level <0.6 so it remains category "A" which means free flow conditions, low volume, high speed, the driver can choose the desired speed. Second, the airport road traffic volume increases based on the passenger growth rate accompanied by the Kaharuddin Nasution and Adisucipto road traffic volume increases based on the Pekanbaru City vehicle growth rate of 5% per year causing the performance of Jenderal Sudirman road to decline every year from "A" to become "F" which means that if can’t be handled it will cause obstructed flow conditions, low speed, volume above capacity, congestion often occurs for a long time so that the speed can drop to zero. The value of the degree of saturation will continue to increase along with the increase in the number of vehicles and the high intensity of airport operational activities and the surrounding land use.
