Abstract

Steamflood is one of the process Enhance Oil Recovery which is conducted to heavy oil field with API range 10°- 20°. This method is done when the primary recovery and secondary recovery do not provide production rate as desired and the best method of Enhanced Oil Recovery for the heavy oil field when we compare to other thermal methods. The principal of this EOR reduces the oil viscosity by utilizing steamflood injection into the reservoir through injection wells simultaneously with high temperature hence the steam will reduce oil viscosity. Modelling that will be made with grid size 200 x 200, dimension X 3.6 km and Y 6.4 km, with API 11°, the pattern is Inverted 5 spots, this field has 5 different type of sands namely Clean, Coarsening, Coarsening Fining, Fining dan Low Quality Reservoir (LQR). Base case scenario has well spacing 8 acres and 23 acres, steamflood injection is done in each sand by using steam quality 0.5 dan 0.9. steamflood injection is done after 3 months of productions in XYZ field to discover recovery factor, Heat Transfer and Steam Oil Ratio (SOR). The biggest reserve is owned by Clean sand, in base case scenario the highest recovery is gained by using well spacing 23 acres, on each sands in XYZ field, after steamflood injection is done, the highest recovery is gained by using well spacing 8 acres with steam quality 90%. Clean Sand gives the highest recovery factor with an amount of 52% and the smallest SOR 9,7 bbl/bbl and a good heat transfer, which is followed by Coarsening, Coarsening Fining, Fining dan LQR.
