Abstract

The presence of the coffee shop business is currently developing in Indonesia, the majority of coffee shop workers are the millennial generation. Work-life balance has a major impact on personal, family and work life. Employees who work in coffee shops work for a certain time and are based on contract agreements that affect employee commitment and interest in work. This study aims to determine the relationship of worklife balance to the work involvement of cafe employees in Pekanbaru, with a total sample of 139 cafe employees. The sampling technique in this study used the Accidental Sampling method. The data collection technique used a scale with a total of 36 items for the work balance scale and work involvement scale. The results of this study use analysis of reliability, validity, descriptive, assumptions and hypothesis testing, using SPSS. 20 obtained : 0.911 work-life balance scale and : 0.901 work involvement scale, with low work-life balance scale categorization that is 45.3 and moderate work involvement is 52.2. Normality test K-sz = 0.629 p> 0.05 stated normal data. Based on the analysis of alternative hypotheses that there is a relationship between the techniques used, it shows R = -0.063, p> 0.05 indicating the hypothesis is rejected. It is hoped that this research will allow further research to consider variables that can affect work-life balance.
