Abstract

The KOTAKU (Kota Tanpa Kumuh) Program is one of the government's efforts to accelerate the handling of slums which aims to improve access to infrastructure and basic services in settlements and improve the welfare of the people in urban areas. The KOTAKU (Kota Tanpa Kumuh) program has been implemented in Pekanbaru City, one of which is in the Pesisir Village. However, it is not yet known how much the KOTAKU (Kota Tanpa Kumuh) program has achieved, so this research aims to evaluate the success of the KOTAKU (Kota Tanpa Kumuh) program in the Pesisir Village. This research uses a deductive approach. The method used in this research is quantitative and qualitative descriptive. Quantitative is used to calculate program achievements and qualitative is used to explain the results of KOTAKU (Kota Tanpa Kumuh) program achievements. Data collection techniques in this study use primary and secondary data, obtained through observation, documentation, literature review, interviews, and questionnaires. The results of the study explained that the activities of the KOTAKU (Kota Tanpa Kumuh) program in the Coastal Villages in 2017-2018 for infrastructure development achieved only 22% of the program and 78% were still unrealized. Infrastructure and basic services in settlements through the implementation of the KOTAKU Coastal Village program that have increased are 18.67% environmental roads, 5.81% environmental drainage, 9.09% wastewater management and 40% solid waste treatment. Public welfare through the provision and improvement of the quality of settlements included in the low welfare level 9.09%, moderate welfare level 86.86% and high welfare level 4.04%.
