Abstract

Waste from oil production in the form of oil-contaminated water may not be disposed of directly into the environment or re-injected into the reservoir before it meets the quality standard regulation of the Minister of Environment Regulation Number 19 Year 2010 where the limit of the Minister of Environment Regulation includes the value of 25 ppm oil content, TDS 4000 ppm, Turbidity 25 NTU, Ph 6 (PERMENLH 2010). Production waste from PT. PERTAMINA EP LIRIK from SEI Field. KARAS has not met the quality standard because of the TDS and Turbidity values. Therefore, it is necessary to filter or filter. Coconut shell activated carbon is used as a filtration material because activated carbon has been proven to have high absorption. In addition to analyzing the effect of coconut shell activated carbon, the effect of nut shell pecan and the combination of coconut shell activated carbon and nut shell nut shells were also analyzed to determine its effect on TDS and Turbidity. The filtration process is carried out using a filtration device where the tool uses a pipe medium that is formed vertically. and inside it is insulated to place the filter media in the form of filter paper which will then flow the oil-contaminated water. The thickness of the coconut shell activated carbon is 20 cm, the pecan nut is 20 cm and the combination of coconut shell and pecan nut is 20 cm. From the results of research using coconut shell activated carbon media with oil content of 7 ppm, TDS 918, turbidity 8.68 NTU, ph 6.40. and for nut shell pecans with oil content of 9 ppm, TDS 998 ppm, turbidity 13.0 NTU, and pH 8.01. for the combination of coconut shell activated carbon with nut shell pecans with oil content of 7 ppm, TDS 604 ppm, turbidity 7.87 NTU and for a pH of 6.76.
