Abstract

Parenting is the interaction between parents and children in guiding and raising children in accordance with the norms prevailing in society with the aim that children are able to act without depending on others so that they are independent and responsible. To prevent the spread of Covid-19, the Indonesian government issued a policy, one of which was the policy of learning from home or online learning. The role of parents during the pandemic is very necessary to accompany children to learn online. In this case, parents are required to have the right parenting style in accompanying children to learn online. The purpose of this study was to find out the description of parenting patterns of working parents towards online learning in children during the Covid-19 pandemic, with the subject in this study 3 working mothers who have children participating in online learning. This research was conducted with descriptive qualitative methods, namely interviews and observations using purposive sampling technique. Analysis of the data used is coding (coding). The results of this study indicate that working parents apply democratic parenting and feel that online learning is not effective to be applied due to the difficulty of dividing time between work and accompanying children to study at home.
