Abstract

The construction of the Pekanbaru-Dumai toll road is important to shorten the distance and time of travel to the destination city, with the existence of toll roads can improve regional and economic development between the two regions in the distribution of goods, people and services. However, the construction of toll roads will have an impact on the community on a socio-economic basis. The purpose of this study is to identify the socio-economic impacts on the community due to the construction of the Pekanbaru-Dumai toll road. To analyze the data using the Expert Judgment method to answer the problems raised in the study. The results of this study are the characteristics of the community of Muara Fajar Timur Village by sex, the number of men is higher with a presentation of 70%, the age level of the Muara Fajar Timur Community is the highest in the age of 31-40 and 41-50 years with a percentage of 30%. East graduates with a percentage of high school 50%, while those who did not graduate school with a percentage of 20%. For the development stage, the construction of the PekanbaruDumai toll road is in the Construction stage which has been on asphalt for approximately 1 Km while the one that has not been paved and still at the hardening stage is still 1.6 Km long with the existing road in Muara Fajar Timur Village is 2, 6 Km. Social impact on the people of Muara Fajar Timur Village, the community does not feel disturbed by the air pollution or noise generated. The construction of toll roads is very helpful for the people of Muara Fajar Timur Village to obtain employment. The total income of the community has increased by 70%.
