Abstract

Homosexuality is one of the phenomenal topics of conversation today. Homosexuality is a condition where a person tends to or is only sexually attracted to the same sex. This study aims to describe the lifestyle of homosexual men in Pekanbaru. This study uses qualitative methods with a case study approach. Data collection in this study using observation, in depth interviews, document analysis tracking and projective tests (graphics). The data analysis method used in this study is the analysis method of the Miles and Huber man models. The research subjects were three homosexual men who lived in Pekanbaru who were used based on the snowball sampling procedure. The results of the research conducted showed that the three informants had deviant lifestyle factors that made the three informants become homosexual men, as for the deviant lifestyle factors as homosexual men, the three informants had physical weaknesses that were exaggerated, the existence of a spoiled lifestyle factor and a rejected life style. Physical weakness exaggerated by the three informants, namely the three informants were too excessive in assessing and caring for the physical. On the spoiled lifestyle of the three informants expecting attention and affection from others and the need to be the center of attention. In lifestyle factors rejected by past traumatic experiences such as sexual harassment, parental divorce, violence or treatment obtained from the father, experience with bullying, rejection from stepmother and family relation that are less harmonious. The type of lifestyle of the three informants was different, the first informant was the type of lifestyle avoided, and the second and third informants the type of lifestyle accepted where there was hope of getting satisfaction from others.
