Abstract
The problem that is often faced by rose flower ornamental traders in Kubang Jaya Village, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency, is the tight competition in the marketing of roses due to the very close distance from other traders. This study aims to analyze (1) the characteristics of rose ornamental plant traders (2) the channels and marketing agencies of roses (3) the marketing functions: exchange, procurement, smoothing (4) marketing costs, marketing margins, marketing efficiency, and profit. This research uses qualitative descriptive analysis method and quantitative descriptive analysis, where the determination of the research location uses a survey method in Kubang Jaya Village and the determination of the research sample is carried out by means of a census in Kubang Jaya Village, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency. Sampling was carried out by means of a census, with the number of respondents who were obtained as many as 7 respondents who were entrepreneurs of rose ornamental plants. The data collected consists of primary data and secondary data. The method used in data analysis is descriptive qualitative analysis and descriptive quantitative. Based on the results of the study: 1) the characteristics of ornamental plant traders, the average age of productive rose flower traders was (42 years), the education level of the traders was 11.47 years, trading experience was 6.29 years, and the number of dependents of the family was 4 people. 2) channels and marketing agencies involved in marketing roses are traders and consumers as well as traders using one channel, namely breeders-traders-consumers, and 3) marketing functions used by rose ornamental plant traders are exchange functions including buying and selling, procurement functions covering transportation and storage, and smoothing functions covering capital, risk assuming, standardization and grading, and market information. While marketing 1.144.167 / stem, then the marketing margin of the rose is Rp. 5,571 / stem, the marketing profit of the rose is Rp. 7.26.833 / stick, while marketing efficiency was obtained by 15,4%, and Farmer's Share obtained by traders was 35%.
