Abstract

This small island is enchanting. As far as the eye can see the white sand is so cool. The beach in North Rupat stretches for 12 km from Rhu Bay to Tanjung Punak. The sea water is clean and the waves are not too big, very comfortable for bathing, swimming and water sports. The vast expanse of white sand is perfect for sunbathing and playing in the sand. Beach pine trees along the coast add to the beautiful atmosphere. The beauty of the beach in North Rupat is the key to tourism development in the area and is one of the leading tourist areas in Bengkalis Regency. This study aims to determine and analyze the strategy of the Bengkalis Regency Government in developing tourism objects in North Rupat District. This type of research is qualitative using a descriptive approach to SWOT analysis. Wheleen and Hunger,. The data analysis method used is themethod purposive sampling. The results of the study indicate that from the SWOT analysis that has been carried out it can be seen that the external factors that most influence the development of tourism objects in North Rupat District are the many opportunities that exist where one of the best opportunities is located in the growth triangle between countries and the most serious threats. high is environmental damage. From the results of this study, it can be seen that there is still a lack of strategy or not exactly the strategy carried out by the Bengkalis Regency Tourism Office in carrying out development. If the maximum use of all strengths and opportunities while minimizing weaknesses and avoiding threats is carried out supported by the application of the right development strategy, then tourism objects in North Rupat District will be able to compete at the national and international levels.
