Abstract
The 1998 crisis that occurred included one of them was the corporate crisis. has made many parties aware of the importance of building a strong business structure. The corporate crisis, especially large business groups that have been supporting the economy so far has fallen. Entering the era of globalization and facing fast-moving economic growth, The banking sector is one that must be maximally developed. Under the Banking Law, one of the bank's activities is credit. Giving credit is a bank activity that contains risks that can affect the health and sustainability of the bank, therefore in its implementation it must apply the principles of Good Corporate Governance, one of the factors that determines bank health is the principle of Good Corporate Governance. The main problem of this research is the Implementation of Good Corporate Governance in Providing Credit at PT. Pekanbaru Branch BTPN Bank and supporting and inhibiting factors for the implementation of Good Corporate Governance in granting credit at PT. Pekanbaru Branch BTPN Bank. The purpose of this research was to find out the Application of Good Corporate Governance in Providing Credit at PT. Pekanbaru Branch BTPN Bank and to find out the supporting and inhibiting factors for the application of the GCG principles in granting credit at the Pekanbaru Bank BTPN Branch. This type of research is sociological legal research, namely research that takes data directly to the field based on sources, with the population / respondent by conducting interviews as a data collection tool. Then from the data taken the data is processed so that the results of the discussion of the results can be obtained conclusions by the deductive method. This research is descriptive, namely research that explains in clear and detailed sentences. The application of the transparency principle has been considered adequate considering that the implementation of credit provision has been done properly and the customer claims to have clear, precise and open information. Second, the accountability principle in which the marketing bank of BTPN already knows the functions and duties of each, and is responsible for each job. Third, the principle of responsiveness, namely marketing when carrying out its duties, has applied the precautionary principle and follows all applicable regulations. Fourth, the principle of independence in the lending process of the Pekanbaru Branch BTPN Bank has never been assisted or has never been interfered with by other parties. fifth, the principle of fairness is still not going well, this is caused by one person who dares to violate the rules of lending procedures to customers. Supporting factors of the application of GCG at BTPN are cooperation between each marketing employee, there is a committee that oversees, there is a high expectation from each prospective customer to get excellent service. While the inhibiting factor is the lack of some marketing knowledge about GCG, the absence of direction from the Branch Manager and the absence of regulations issued by the bank regarding GCG.
