Abstract
Marriage does not always produce a relationship that is sakinah, mawaddah, warahmah. Even though a marriage that was supposed to be a muamalah eventually ended in divorce. Whereas in marriage there is a contract which means a bond, or it can be said that marriage is basically an agreement, binding, commitment, and principle. Divorce is divided into three types, namely sued divorce, talak divorce, and Fasach. For some people, divorce is considered as a way to resolve a marriage that is already in harmony and cannot be saved anymore. It is emphasized in Law Number 1 of 1974 concerning Marriage that it pays special attention to divorce, such as what causes a marriage to break up. The problem is what are the factors that cause the high divorce rate for young couples in Pekanbaru City based on data at the Pekanbaru Religious Court?. And how to overcome the high divorce rate of young couples in Pekanbaru City?. This study aims to find out what are the factors for the high divorce rate of young couples in Pekanbaru City and to find out how to overcome the high divorce rate of young couples in Pekanbaru City. This research is a normative-empirical research and the nature of the research is descriptive. Collecting data by means of interviews and documentation. The population in this study were the Chairperson (BP4) of the Pekanbaru City Marriage Advisory Board, Pekanbaru Religious Court Judge, Junior Registrar of Pekanbaru Religious Court Law, Married Couples Divorcing According to Young Age, Religious Leaders, and Marriage Psychologists, this sample amounted to 15 respondents. Direct data collection by interview and then the results are managed qualitatively. The results showed that the factors causing the divorce of young couples were economic factors, domestic violence, husband's bad habits such as drunkenness and gambling, infidelity, husbands leaving their wives and children for months, husbands marrying without the wife's knowledge, one party does not get blessing and there is family intervention from the husband so that it is not harmonious. Efforts to prevent divorce for young couples have been carried out by the Advisory Board for the Guidance and Preservation of Marriage (BP4), Pekanbaru Religious Court, but there is a lack of awareness among young couples to realize that marriage is done not just like each other, but financial, mental and faith readiness must be balanced in order to achieve a sakinah mawaddah warahmah household.
