Abstract
ABSTRACT This study aims to (1) determine the teacher's ability profile in making HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) test items to improve the high-level thinking skills of vocational high school students in Rambah sub-district of Rokan Hulu Regency, (2) to determine whether the teacher has been able to apply the making HOTS-based items in schools in Rambah sub-district. Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) is a part of Bloom's revised taxonomy in the form of operational verbs consisting of analyze (C4), evaluate (C5) and create (C6) used in compiling questions. The approach used in this research is descriptive analysis method with qualitative data. Data collection through observation, interviews and documentation. The subjects of this study were four accounting teachers, namely 2 people at SMK 1 Rambah and 2 people at SMKN 2 Rambah in Rokan Hulu Regency. The results of this study indicate that it can be concluded that the ability of accounting subject teachers in SMK 1 Rambah in making HOTS questions is high (67.86%). While the ability of accounting subject teachers at SMK 2 Rambah in making HOT questions is also high (76.74%).
