Abstract
The purpose of this study to the influence of the use of metacognitive strategies on class X student learning result on material the general characteristics of plants SMAS YLPI Pekanbaru academic year 2018/2019. Research using quasiexperimental methods. The sampling technique used saturated sampling is the sampling technique of all populations are used as samples. The design used is in the from of pretest- postest control group design. The sample of this study was students of class X IPA1 as an experimental class and X IPA 2 as a control class, each student consisting of 20 students in each class. The instruments used in the form of multiple choice tests and non-test in the form of student worksheets and student questionnaire sheets. The posttest data was analyzed by t-test. The result showed that tcount was 7,72. While the value of ttabel for df= 38, and a significance of 0,05 is 2,02439. Through these results, tcount > ttabel (7,72 > 2,02439). This result indicates that there was influence of the use of metacognitive strategies on class X student learning result on material the general characteristics of plants SMAS YLPI Pekanbaru academic year 2018/2019.
