Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of teaching skills of PPL Riau Islamic University Biology Department students in biology class X IPA of SMAN 4 Pekanbaru in Academic Year 2019/2020. This type of research is descriptive research. The population in this research, is all students of class X IPA SMAN 4 Pekanbaru which amounted to 60 students. The sample in this research, is all students of class X IPA SMAN 4 Pekanbaru which amounted to 60 students. Collection data by observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis techniques using descriptive analysis techniques. From the results of the study obtained the percentage of skills to open a lesson is 81.80%, explaining skills at 80.82%, asking skills at 78.38%, giving reinforcement skills 74,90%, holding a variation of 78,79%, guiding discussion skills small groups 76,38%, 77,98% classroom management skills, 83,97% small group teaching skills and 74.57% closing learning skills. This shows that the level of teaching skills of PPL Riau Islamic University Biology Department students in biology class X IPA of SMAN 4 Pekanbaru in the Academic Year 2019/2020 is good with a percentage of 78,62%.
